I wasn't against Lena, in some ways she looks the part, however Linda Hamilton, whether through physical DNA, or acting classes, really took home the award for being Sarah Connor.
Unfortunately I could never get her out of my head, and Lena will never be a proper Sarah to me - in fact, no one would probably fit the bill other than Linda. However I did consider if anyone could bridge the gap a bit more, and I came up with Yancy Butler. She is not a stranger to action films, firearms or explosives.   I think she has a similar look to Linda, both in the facial features as well as her body type, but a bit more exotic and modern in some ways.

From the moment, the pilot aired and we all found out that Cameron was going to be John's protector. Did you think, well those two are going to be friends or even more? The moment I first thought that was in the second episode when she touched his neck. Now, I know that's a little too soon to really think about how a show will go, but when you have a beautiful cyborg protecting a teenage boy, you know the boy would become attached. Especially, if that cyborg/girl is his only friend.
I look at the entire series and I can't help but to think that Josh Friedman wrote the story knowing that at some point he would have John and Cameron come together. I get the feeling that he’s trying to follow in the footsteps of James Cameron's Uncle Bob Terminator. A machine that’s built to kill has learned the value of Human life, and discovered his own 'humanity'. I was thinking about this the other day when I watched the entire series again. I think Josh Friedman wanted to show us a machine that could still be a machine, but evolve and learn to be something more. I think the first step was what we saw in S&D, and I have a feeling that if the show had continued, we would've seen Cameron learn to become more than a robot. She'd always be a robot and nothing would ever change that, but I think she would start to understand the value of human life. I think John was going to be architect behind her development. He's the only one that seemed to look at Cameron and see a person and not a tool. I think Sarah saw Cameron as a tool, but not one that she was going to be able to get rid of. We learn that in 'Today is the Day'.

Ok since we are talking about her again, I think she deserves her own thread.
She is quite possibly the most controversial character on the show. Was her motive well meaning? Did she add to or detract from the character of Derek? Is she dead? Is the character redeemable in any way?

John Connor is probably the most problematic Terminator franchise character.
My favorite John Connor portray has been done by Michael Edwards in T2. This is not because he is some sort of great actor. He has not spoken a single word in T2 and all he has done is looking scary around the battlefield. He is still the mystery Kyle Reese told us about in T1. What other Connors did we get? 1. Little John Connor in T2 2. Adult emo John in T3 3. Sweet Johnny boy of TSCC s1 4. Emo Johnny boy of TSCC s2 5. Batman Connor in T4 This is not surprising. If a story starts telling us about a mysterious great man, then how can his incarnation ever reach the imagination?

Catherine Weaver is my favourite robot of TSCC. There are some major unknowns about her. Like, what was she doing in the "present" before she started impersonating Catherine Weaver. How long has she been in the "present"? Do all LMTs know how to construct a TDE? Why did Catherine Weaver (then just an LMT) swap sides? Why does she keep Savannah Weaver around?

What then?
Would we grant him citizenship in the human race? Would we allow him to procreate unchecked? Would he and those like him be integrated into human society? If so would machines be allowed to vote for the leaders of men? Would he build his own machine city, like 01 in The Animatrix? If so would it be a sovereign nation? And would it kick our asses in productivity? Would you want your daughter to marry him? She would be a queen of machines. Would we have really won? . This is an old thread from another site, I thought I'd try it here.

During Sarah's main storyarc in season 2, I really felt for the character. A single mother with a teenage son that was pulling away, knowing sometime in the future she will die of cancer, went through an identity crisis, and following up on a hunch she had that no one believed her about... which, of course, did lead her to Kaliba. She kept going with the mission even though the others didn't support her. Her son was rebelling and spending his time with a girl she didn't trust, her son's uncle was always gone who knows where, and their cyborg protector had recently tried to murder her son... Sarah Connor was alone and that is what I am exploring Set to "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" by Green Day Please check it out, thanks

In s2 he is some sort of baby AI. He is no terminator and he is also no Skynet, which has been created with a special purpose by mankind: to defend a certain country. I think that this character worked so well also because of the brilliance of Garret Dillahunt. But what to do with him in s3? What is he worth without a network connection? I find it quite odd in various s3 fanfics if he just walks around as some kind of supporter for John Connor and doing all sorts of jobs for him. I see him only as an AI which needs to be developed to get stronger and then plugged into the network to fight down Skynet.

Since a while I am asking myself, if adding Allison to the character set has been a s2 decision or not.
After the pilot Cameron has been written more robotic. I think that the writers may have decided that they need a change to let Summer Glau show her acting, which leads us to Allison. Have the writers ever given some hints, for example in interviews?
