![]() Is it possible to come up with 101 plausible methods of killing or immobilizing a T-888? I thought it might be interesting to see how many ways we can come up with to realistically pwn one. =) Let me start with a few obvious ones: 1) Crushed in a hydraulic press. 2) Dropped into molten metal. 3) HEI/AP round to the head, using a Barrett .50 caliber sniper rifle. 4) Dowsed with water and then electrocuted (Immobilize only).

Judgment day is coming - 4/21/11.
Have you gotten underground tunnels to go to, to survive J-day? Do you have lots of guns and start your own piece of the Resistance? Are you ready?

In case you haven't seen this, a report is out that the U.S. military is interested in investing in exoskeleton research and development currently based in Japan:
http://www.dailytech.com/article.aspx?newsid=20605 Eerily, comments of user SgtTech, do not seem so far fetched: "Cyberdyne creates exoskeletons that interface with humans. US Military wants to buy them. So soon Cyberdyne will be working with the US Military to create robotic enhanced soldiers. Raytheon and Lockheed Martin will plug them into the network and Skynet will be born. Nothing to worry about is there? "

I just made this same thread on the old wiki, and thought I'd see how it fared over here. The following OP is copy/pasted from red, so it doesn't completely apply here:
"I know this discussion has occured before, and that some participants were thrilled by the idea, and others disgusted. Posts became heated, moderators stepped in and threads were deleted. Perhaps in the latest incarnation of this wiki's membership and moderation, we are capable of having this conversation. In light of recent posts by member Dr._Allison_Cameron expressing nostalgia for deleted posts, I thought I'd try again. While I am neither thrilled nor disgusted by the idea of humans sharing love and physical intimacy with other non-human sapients, I feel that it has no place in the terminator franchise. Assuming that terminators are capable of such intimacy changes them in my eyes to the extent that I can no longer accept that they were built by skynet for purposes of infiltration and assasination. Bear in mind that I am not trying to argue 'what the story said' or 'what the writers meant'. I am only stating that I, RDO, feel that it stretches my willingness to accept the parameters of the story to breaking." Here is the red version if you want to follow it.

Okay, it's post Judgement Day. The machines are rolling out in force and you're part of the resistance in your respective countries. Taking the fight back against Skynet. What two weapons would you have to take out the machines. Not only Terminators, but Centaur tanks and/or HKs as well.
Because of weight considerations, you can only pick two, so choose wisely. And no plasma rifles - they're expensive and just cheating. Here's mine: M-32 Grenade launcher. Javelin (SAM missile, not the antitank rocket)

I found a newspaper article from november 2001, the article was about a "learning microchip"
"Nokia Research Center developed a neuromicrochip, cabable of learning without a program" For some strange reason that reminded me of an image I once saw... http://img338.yfrog.com/img338/2599/blazarday2copy.png

Researcher Creates Strongest Metal Foam Ever
http://www.inhabitat.com/2010/02/01/researcher-creates-strongest-metal-foam-ever/ "Spongy metal sounds like a bit of an oxymoron, but it’s actually a real material that is capable of absorbing large impacts without damage. Metal foams have been around for some time, but new research by Dr. Afsaneh Rabiei of North Carolina State University, has revealed the strongest metal foam ever. It can compress up to 80% of its original size under loading and still retain its original shape. The applications for this type of material are too numerous to fathom, but one of the most anticipated uses for the spongy metal is in automobiles to lessen the impact of crashes and protect the driver and passengers." ![]() I am aroused by this new spongy metal substance.

In the show we never saw terminators communicating with each other expect for some fun lines:
s1 ep1: Cameron's neat trick line to Cromartie s2 ep22: Weaver's "I liked that gate" to water delivery terminator Have I forgotten something? This lines were just added for some cheap fun. They don't tell us anything about how machines communicate and relate to each other. There is also not much reason for communication because we almost always got machines as the lonely fighter. The machines only relate to each other when they are fighting and killing each other. It is interesting that Cameron makes a strange face after killing Vick and Cromartie. She also wrote a note for the dead Vick. Of course we see Weaver and in a single scene also Cameron communicate with JH, but he is no terminator. He is the friendly version of Skynet. So do machines talk with each other? How do they relate to each other or do they only relate to Skynet?

Here we can discuss the mechanics, mental capabilities, tactics, and anything else regarding the construction and use of terminators. You may discuss any model series in this thread (T-600, T-800, T-888, T-1000/1, etc).
